The Italian eyewear industry is investing in artificial intelligence. A few days ago,ANFAO, Confindustria Belluno Dolomiti, Aivisory, and Certottica presented Innovereye in Cortina d'Ampezzo, the world's first innovation center dedicated to the practical adoption of digital technologies and AI in the eyewear sector.
A tailored approach for the sector
This company is the result of a process lasting more than a year, based on a direct analysis of the operational needs of companies in the sector. The initiative is aimed at all companies in the sector, both Italian and international. Innovereye supports companies throughout the value chain, from production processes to product development, from innovative services to distribution models, to skills and sustainability. Its approach is based on "tailor-made" paths, calibrated according to the digital maturity level of each company and the actual integration of solutions into existing processes, with constant attention to the measurability of results over time.
Support for digital transformation
"Innovereye was born out of the desire of ANFAO and Confindustria Belluno Dolomiti to offer the eyewear sector a point of reference dedicated to innovation," said Lorraine Berton, president of ANFAO and Confindustria Belluno Dolomiti, in a statement. "As an association, we feel a responsibility to support the industry through a phase of profound transformation, using an open innovation approach, helping companies of all sizes to understand and adopt digital technologies and artificial intelligence in a practical way, transforming them into a real competitive advantage."
A strategic tool for Made in Italy
"This is the result of effective dialogue with more than 40 representatives from companies in the sector, ranging from SMEs to major global players," explains Nicola Belli, president of Innovereye and vice president of Anfao. "What we heard was a clear need for guidance and concrete support in adopting digitization tools and processes, right up to the adoption of Artificial Intelligence. As vice president of Anfao, I can say that the industry's response was unanimous: there was a need for a reference point dedicated to eyewear, and now we have it. It is a substantial tool for the evolution and promotion of Made in Italy."
