Vacheron Constantin reinvents the Overseas Tourbillon with Grade 5 titanium and a touch of color

The Swiss watchmaker unveils a new version of its iconic sport-chic model. Combining the high-tech properties of Grade 5 titanium with the depth of a sophisticated burgundy dial, this new Overseas Tourbillon reaffirms its status as a masterpiece that combines lightness, resistance, and bold aesthetics.

The combination of titanium and fine watchmaking

Vacheron Constantin continues to deploy its 2160 caliber with peripheral rotor in the Overseas collection, exploring a new alchemy of materials. The case, measuring 42.5 mm in diameter and just 10.39 mm thick, is carved entirely from Grade 5 titanium. This architectural choice is not insignificant: prized for its lightness and mechanical robustness, this metal is ideally suited to the line's "traveling" and sporty vocation, while offering increased resistance to corrosion.

A profound aesthetic certified by the Geneva Seal

This iteration features a translucent burgundy lacquered dial, enhanced with a sunray satin finish that captures the light with intensity. This shade serves as a backdrop for the tourbillon cage, a veritable mechanical ballet visible at 6 o'clock. On the engine side, the 188-component manufacture movement provides a comfortable power reserve of approximately 80 hours. Stamped with the prestigious Hallmark of Geneva, this caliber features a fine, hand-angled tourbillon cage, proving that performance does not sacrifice the finesse of the finishes.

Modularity and technical variations

The Overseas Tourbillon collection embraces diversity. In addition to this burgundy version, the range offers deep blue dials and skeletonized designs revealing the 2160 SQ caliber, where sapphire rubs shoulders with rose gold and Super-LumiNova®. The interchangeable strap system—allowing you to easily switch from titanium to leather or rubber without tools—remains one of the major advantages of this line, offering instant customization to suit every moment of life.

Titanium, the new hallmark of luxury sportswear

For Christian Selmoni, Director of Style and Heritage at the Maison, titanium has now established itself as an essential alternative to steel for watches with integrated bracelets. Its technical properties harmonize with the spirit of elegant adventure that is unique to the Overseas. By combining a certified ultra-thin movement with contemporary aesthetics, the Manufacture is making a measured but relevant evolution. The use of Grade 5 titanium, coupled with the peripheral rotor and burgundy dial, perfectly illustrates Vacheron Constantin's ability to combine centuries-old expertise with bold modern styling.
