Pitti Immagine: De Matteis’s term as president extended through 2028

Antonio De Matteis Reappointed as Chairman of Pitti Immagine

The board of directors of the Centro di Firenze per la Moda Italiana (CFMI), chaired by Antonella Mansi, met yesterday in Prato, in conjunction with the extraordinary meeting of Pitti Immagine shareholders. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss increasing the number of company directors. It was followed by the regular shareholders’ meeting, both chaired by Antonio De Matteis. Upon the recommendation of the CFMI Board of Directors, the meeting proceeded with the appointments to the Pitti Immagine Board of Directors for the 2026–2028 term. Antonio De Matteis was confirmed as Chairman and Antonella Mansi as Vice Chair. In addition to them, the following members were reappointed to the board: Giovanni Basagni, Stefano Borsini, Ercole Botto Poala, Marco Landi, Niccolò Moschini, Raffaello Napoleone, Lorenzo Nencini, and Marco Palmieri. Three new directors were also appointed: Paolo Carrai (CEO of Via del Tè), Ivano Cauli (General Manager of Pitti Immagine), and Laura Tonatto.

Renewal of the Board of Auditors

The Board of Statutory Auditors was also reappointed. It consists of its chairman Massimo Bianchi, Deborah Sassorossi, and Guido Ceron, with Giuseppe Cristiani and Roberto Vanni serving as alternates. Meanwhile, Niccolò Ricci has stepped down from his position as director after a six-year term; he currently serves as president of Polimoda, of which CFMI is a founding member.

Focus on reorganization and internationalization

“The renewal of Pitti Immagine’s board of directors this year marks a fundamental step in our process of reorganization and innovation,” stated Antonella Mansi in a press release. “This process, which was both desired and shared, was developed in close collaboration with shareholders, directors, and the internal structure over the course of the last two terms. Pitti Immagine represents an essential resource for the region and the production sectors. That is why the guiding principle of our work, in recent years as well as in the years to come, has been and will remain the strengthening of its ability to renew itself and to effectively support the promotion of our companies in international markets, particularly during this extremely critical period for the global economy.”

A strategic expansion into new lifestyle sectors

“President De Matteis, alongside a board renewed with a focus on near-total continuity,” continues Antonella Mansi, “will provide an additional guarantee of the Italian industry’s commitment to the mandate entrusted by the members. Although the priority given to the fashion sector remains paramount, particularly thanks to the solid and constructive relationship with Confindustria Moda, which has reiterated its full confidence in the Pitti fairs, it was deemed appropriate to broaden the scope of our entrepreneurial contribution. This has resulted in the inclusion on the board of high-level figures from the worlds of gastronomy and perfumery, in perfect alignment with the diversification of our event activities, all focused on the lifestyle sector.”
