Montblanc is revitalizing its Iced Sea collection with a coral-colored edition limited to 300 pieces

The German brand is expanding its Iced Sea collection with a brand-new model. Combining the intensity of a coral aesthetic with the high-tech “0 Oxygen” system, this diving watch—strictly limited to 300 pieces—blends bold style with extreme horological performance.

A vibrant palette at the heart of the ice

Montblanc continues to evolve its Iced Sea line by unveiling a new variation in vibrant hues. The manufacturer, which has made the Mont Blanc massif its signature aesthetic, here translates the imagery of glaciers into a warmer spectrum. The dial comes alive with a subtle gradient blending pink, red, and orange. This “sfumato” effect evokes the light of dawn or dusk caressing the frozen expanses.

This color choice goes beyond mere decoration: it actively contributes to the readability of the time, a vital feature for any instrument used in underwater exploration.

The technical demands of a true diver’s watch

Behind its elegant lines, this 38mm stainless steel model strictly adheres to the collection’s specifications and the ISO 6425 watchmaking standard. It features a unidirectional rotating bezel with a two-tone coral-anodized aluminum insert, as well as water resistance guaranteed up to 300 meters. The 0-to-15-minute zone, rendered in a deeper red, allows for immediate reading of decompression times and critical decompression stops.

In terms of wearability, the steel bracelet ensures a precise fit thanks to its folding clasp. Delivered with a second coral-colored rubber strap, the watch features a quick-change system, proving that contemporary fine watchmaking must be as versatile as it is ergonomic.

The Glacier as a Creative Workshop

A true feat of craftsmanship, the dial features a “scratched-wood” finish. Montblanc emphasizes that this process is infinitely more complex and time-consuming than creating a traditional dial, requiring over thirty meticulous steps and a production time four times longer. The resulting mineral and layered effect strikingly reproduces the crystallization network of millennia-old ice.

On the back, the case back reveals a delicate 3D engraving depicting a diver swimming beneath an iceberg. This attention to detail reinforces the piece’s narrative dimension, while anchoring its primary purpose: the precise measurement of time in the abyss.

“0 Oxygen” Innovation for Reliability

Since April 2025, Montblanc has been implementing its “0 Oxygen” technology in the new Iced Sea models. This innovation, which involves purging oxygen from the case, prevents condensation and protects the movement from damage caused by sudden changes in temperature and pressure. Included as standard in this limited edition, this major advancement can also be applied to existing models during a service visit to the manufacture.

With this coral version, the brand stays true to the Iced Sea’s DNA while elevating a proven formula. After exploring shades of blue, white, and black, this vibrant hue creates a fascinating tension between radical sportiness and elegance. The result subtly oscillates between a high-tech instrument and a collector’s item: while the visual beauty captivates instantly, the brand skillfully reminds us that, beneath the ice and color, function remains paramount.
