Envisioning the Future of Hospitality with Beam
The future of hospitality increasingly depends on the ability to interpret change, not just endure it. This is what Beam, the Bolzano event now in its third edition, offers. Scheduled for May 19 and 20, 2026, it is establishing itself as one of the must-attend events for industry professionals. Since its debut in 2023, the event organized by Fiera Bolzano has gradually established itself as an international platform for exchange among “visionary” hoteliers, entrepreneurs, and key figures in contemporary tourism.
“Lead the Shift”: Redefining Tomorrow’s Models
The 2026 edition revolves around the theme “Lead the Shift,” an explicit invitation to play an active role in the sector’s transformation. It is no longer just a matter of adapting to new market demands, but of helping to define models capable of generating long-term value. This approach applies equally to the operational management of establishments and to the development of an offering consistent with social, economic, and cultural changes.
South Tyrol, a true laboratory of European hospitality
South Tyrol makes this context particularly significant: in recent years, this region has established itself as a leading laboratory for European hospitality, with over 38 million overnight stays projected for 2025 (+2.9%). Here, the integration of quality of life, local roots, and an innovative vision has given rise to a system capable of evolving—and, why not, surprising—by steering the sector toward new trajectories.
A concrete program featuring conferences and thematic workshops
The Beam program alternates between international conferences, networking opportunities, and Beam Labs—thematic workshops designed to address some of the sector’s key challenges in a practical way. Topics will range from transforming the hotel into a community hub, to the role of hospitality as an economic driver, to alternative financing models.
Speakers taking the main stage will include Tyler Brûlé, editorial director and president of Monocle, Nils Persson, Marketing Director of Visit Sweden, Sven Sallaerts of Younique Concepts, who has transformed his employees into co-entrepreneurs, and Benjamin Adrion, founder of Viva con Agua and Villa Viva—perfect examples of how hospitality and social impact can coexist.
The Independent Hospitality Sector as a Testing Ground
Alongside the theoretical dimension, the value of real-world experiences is also emerging strongly. This is the case with the independent hotel sector, which continues to serve as a relevant testing ground. As Angelica Galeazzi, founder of L’Angelica Corte Palazzina on Lake Garda and a speaker at the event, points out: “True luxury is that of slow living: in the genuine attention to detail, the time devoted to the guest, and the feeling of being part of a family. Every element evokes farm life, offering a sincere experience deeply rooted in the local area.”
