La Perla Atelier: Alessio Vannetti Takes the Reins to Lead the Revival of the Italian Lingerie Icon
A new era is dawning for La Perla. Following a period of strategic transition after its acquisition by Luxury Holdings LLC in the fall of 2025, the Bologna-based lingerie house has just officially announced the appointment of Alessio Vannetti as Chief Executive Officer. Effective September 1, 2026, this veteran of the luxury industry will be tasked with restoring the prestige of an institution that has embodied the excellence of “Made in Italy” for decades.
A Career of Excellence in the Service of Heritage
The choice of Alessio Vannetti is no accident. With a career spanning more than twenty years in the highest echelons of the fashion world, he brings a rare breadth of expertise. Having worked at Prada and Zegna, he made the biggest impression at Gucci, where he was part of Marco Bizzarri’s inner circle starting in 2015, before joining Valentino as Chief Brand Officer. His return to Gucci in late 2023 and his recent strategic consulting assignments demonstrate a keen understanding of the challenges of brand desirability and commercial performance.
For Kirsten and Peter Kern, the owners of Luxury Holdings LLC, Vannetti possesses a unique ability to bridge the gap between pure craftsmanship and the demands of a contemporary, globalized market. The goal is clear: to reposition La Perla at the pinnacle of the luxury lingerie market, drawing on its cultural authority and unparalleled technical heritage.
The Bologna Atelier: The Beating Heart of the Revival
This new chapter is part of a long-term project whose foundations have been firmly laid in recent months. Under the leadership of Paolo Vannucchi, who has been at the helm since the Atelier’s reopening last December, the brand has achieved the remarkable feat of reinstating its entire workforce—approximately 220 highly skilled artisans. This human capital, the custodian of craftsmanship and expertise unique to Bologna, forms the foundation upon which Vannetti intends to build his strategy.
Paolo Vannucchi is not stepping down immediately; he will ensure a smooth transition as a strategic consultant until the end of the fiscal year. This orderly handover allows La Perla to stabilize its management structure while setting its sights on the future. “La Perla is one of a kind—a legacy that cannot be recreated from scratch,” emphasizes Vannetti. For the new CEO, the challenge will now be to transform this historic legacy into modern, sustainable performance.
