An Art Deco and antique jewelry auction in Hong Kong is boosting the international market

Antique Jewelry and Art Deco Treasures: Phillips’ New Flagship Auction in Hong Kong

Phillips is organizing an exceptional jewelry auction in Hong Kong on March 30, 2026. This highly anticipated event brings together pieces of the highest caliber, ranging from antique sets to designer Art Deco creations, to the delight of an international clientele focused on aesthetics and heritage investment.

Serving as the setting for this prestigious auction, the auction house’s headquarters in the vibrant cultural district of West Kowloon will host a remarkable selection. To allow collectors and connoisseurs to appreciate the finesse of the lots, public exhibitions will be held in advance in Taipei on March 14 and 15, then in Hong Kong from March 23 to 29, offering a privileged opportunity to discover the works before the auction.

Historical masterpieces and geometric virtuosity

Several period jewels stand out for their historical significance and the excellence of their craftsmanship. Among this season’s highlight lots is a delicate tiara headband, subtly adorned with natural pearls, seed pearls, and diamonds, with an estimate ranging from HK$320,000 to HK$480,000. The architectural aesthetic of the Roaring Twenties is brilliantly represented by a pair of brooch clips set with old-cut diamonds (estimated at HK$240,000 to 400,000), as well as by a 1930s openwork brooch, notable for its elegant openwork design (HK$140,000 to 180,000). A sumptuous floral brooch by Retzignac, combining pearls and diamonds, is expected to captivate connoisseurs with an estimated value of HK$320,000 to HK$480,000.

The highlight of the show, however, lies in the pieces of very high jewelry. An impressive scroll-style cuff bracelet, set with brilliant-cut and baguette diamonds, is estimated at between HK$800,000 and HK$1.8 million. Alongside it is the true centerpiece of this selection: a dazzling bracelet dating from 1931. This precious mosaic combining rubies, emeralds, sapphires, and diamonds is estimated in the high range, from HK$800,000 to HK$1.8 million. These creations not only embody a stylistic feat but have also established themselves as true safe-haven assets on the secondary market.

Asia, the global epicenter of exceptional gemstones

This event takes place within a particularly dynamic and competitive Asian market. As a reminder, the Hong Kong sale organized by Phillips in March 2025 easily surpassed the HK$50 million mark (approximately US$6.4 million), illustrating buyers’ growing appetite for diamonds and colored gemstones. At that previous auction, bidders from more than thirty countries acquired nearly 77% of the lots, confirming the sustained global appeal of sapphires, emeralds, and high-quality diamonds.

A reimagined omnichannel experience for collectors

In conjunction with the in-person sale to be held on the ground floor of the WKCDA Tower (Austin Road West, Kowloon), Phillips is launching an exclusive online sale from March 23 to 31, 2026. Designed to break down barriers, this digital platform offers a curated selection featuring a sculptural chalcedony and diamond ring by Boucheron, a textured gold brooch by Gianmaria Buccellati, and spectacular diamond earrings by Jacob & Co. A rare opportunity for art lovers worldwide to enrich their collections from afar with historic pieces of museum-quality.
