A New Chapter for Alessandro Varisco at Nuo
A new professional chapter for Alessandro Varisco. The executive, formerly of Twinset and Moschino, is joining the investment firm Nuo as an Operating Partner for the fashion and luxury sector. The Milan-based executive, born in 1965, will support the other Operating Partners, Giuseppe Morici and Antonio Dus. Founded in Milan in 2016 and led by Tommaso Paoli, Nuo holds minority and majority stakes in the food sector (Venchi, Andriani, Bialetti), fashion (Slowear, Subdued), personal care (Ludovico Martelli with the Marvis and Proraso brands), technology (Bending Spoons), technical apparel and equipment for sports and leisure (Montura, Scarpa), and boating (Sacs).
Strategic expertise at the service of investment
Varisco, the press release explains, “will support the investment team in evaluating and managing new transactions. He will also work alongside senior executives to define strategies and organizational structures and analyze competitive market trends.”
“The arrival of Alessandro Varisco,” says Tommaso Paoli, CEO of Nuo, “guarantees us high-level industrial and managerial expertise that will bring real value to the companies involved in our future transactions. Alessandro has in-depth knowledge of the fashion and luxury sector, and his contribution will be invaluable both in analyzing new opportunities and in supporting management teams during the value creation phase.”
A prestigious career at the heart of Made in Italy
After earning his degree in Economics and Management from the Catholic University, Varisco held leading positions at major Italian and international fashion brands: from his early career at Valentino, through Versace and Gianfranco Ferré, to his tenure as CEO of Moschino and, since 2015, that of Twinset. In addition to his managerial roles, he has also served as an advisor and board member for various companies in the sector.
“I am very pleased to join Nuo and contribute to a project that aims to support high-potential Italian companies. Supporting their growth in a healthy and patient manner, as Nuo has always done in its strategies, means supporting them in creating jobs and value for Made in Italy around the world. Fashion and luxury are sectors that today offer significant opportunities for those who know how to combine brand identity, strategic vision, and execution capabilities,” comments Alessandro Varisco.
