A New Chapter for Balmain's Children's Fashion
Balmain’s children’s fashion line is joining the Brave Kid portfolio. The French luxury brand, owned by the Mayhoola fund, has entrusted the OTB Group company with the development, production, and exclusive global distribution of the line for boys and girls aged 0 to 16 through a licensing agreement. The partnership will begin with the Spring/Summer 2027 season and includes the kids, baby, and newborn collections.
The Spring/Summer 2027 collection is developed as an extension of the adult line, incorporating its silhouettes and stylistic codes. Coats and jackets reinterpret Balmain’s tailoring in a way that is functional for children, while preserving the house’s DNA. The prints are drawn directly from the brand’s archives. Designed for all occasions, the line places a strong emphasis on formal wear—also featured in the baby line—and is complemented by a dedicated beachwear selection.
Strategic global distribution
Brave Kid will handle global omnichannel distribution, and starting next June, the collection will be available in showrooms in Milan, Paris, and New York. Starting in November 2026, the girls’, boys’, baby, and newborn collections will be distributed and available in Balmain flagship stores, on the e-commerce sites balmain.com and bravekid.com, as well as in the best specialty children’s retailers worldwide.
With the arrival of Balmain, Brave Kid is strengthening its brand portfolio, which includes both OTB Group brands such as Diesel, MM6 Maison Margiela, and Marni, as well as licensing agreements with Dsquared2, N°21, Max&Co., and Myar.
A shared vision for the next generation
“We are proud to collaborate with Balmain on a project that clearly reflects a shared commitment to quality, creativity, and a long-term vision,” said Marco Perin, CEO of Brave Kid, in a statement. “At Brave Kid, our goal is to translate the power of Balmain’s heritage into a language that speaks to new generations, combining innovation with a deep respect for the House’s identity. This collaboration represents a major opportunity to create authentic and relevant products, while building a solid and coherent path for the future.”
“This agreement represents a strategic step in Balmain’s vision to expand its licensing portfolio through highly targeted partnerships,” adds Matteo Sgarbossa, CEO of Balmain. “We are delighted to collaborate with Brave Kid, a partner that combines unique expertise with a deep contemporary sensibility. With Brave Kid, we not only have the opportunity to reinterpret our codes in a contemporary way for the world of children, but also to project our approach to licensing over the long term: a model grounded in excellence and the consistency of Balmain’s distinctive identity, capable of establishing an authentic dialogue with new generations.”
A breath of fresh air in creative direction
Last November, Balmain appointed Antonin Tron as its new creative director following the announcement of Olivier Rousteing’s departure, who stepped down after 14 years at the helm of the brand’s style direction. Previously, the children’s fashion license had been entrusted to Simonetta.
